ClassQuip

FAQ

Answers for teachers, district staff, and IT — including technical depth we keep off the homepage.

Getting started

How do I try ClassQuip?

Open the demo room at classquip.com/demo, or create a free teacher account. Districts and charters work with us on roster, sign-in, and rollout.

Is ClassQuip free for teachers?

Yes. Individual teachers get one classroom, full live teaching tools, and up to 30 guests at no cost. Teacher Pro ($8/month) adds Studio Mode for recorded lessons. Schools and districts buy org-wide access on annual invoice — rostered staff receive Studio and admin features without a personal subscription.

How do schools and districts buy ClassQuip?

Contact us from the pricing or contact page. We help with ClassLink roster sync, district sign-in, and the admin portal for policies and exports.

Chromebooks, home Wi‑Fi, and school networks

Does ClassQuip run on Chromebooks?

Yes. Teachers and students use the browser — no install required on school Chromebooks or home devices.

What happens when bandwidth is tight?

Students can use lighter media modes that favor audio when video struggles. ClassQuip is built for real school and home networks.

Do we need unusual firewall ports?

Most schools use standard HTTPS. If firewalls block peer media, relay paths are available. IT teams can validate during a pilot — see architecture notes below.

Privacy and student data

How does ClassQuip handle student data?

We design for school use: role-based access, district controls, and documented retention. Read our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum (DPA) for subprocessors and retention details.

Where are the legal documents?

Privacy, Terms, EULA, and our DPA are linked from the site footer and sign-up flows.

Integrations

Does ClassQuip work with ClassLink?

Yes. Districts use ClassLink for sign-in and OneRoster roster sync. Clever is not available yet — contact us if Clever is required for your district.

Can we launch from our LMS?

Yes. LTI 1.3 and Advantage (launch, deep linking, grade passback) are supported for Moodle and other platforms that register ClassQuip as an LTI tool.

Architecture (for IT)

What powers live video?

ClassQuip runs live class in the browser with a dedicated signaling service and optional relay for strict school firewalls — not a generic meeting link with an education skin.

Where does media go?

Signaling and application data use ClassQuip cloud services. Media is peer-oriented with relay when direct paths fail. Subprocessors are listed in our privacy documentation.
